League City, TX (August 8, 2024):  League City Police Detectives with the Community Impact Unit, along with the assistance of LCPD SWAT, the Galveston County Organized Crime Task Force, the Texas City Police Department Crime Suppression Unit and the La Marque Police Department, have arrested 19-year-old Demarion Bell of Dickinson, 19-year-old Embassy McCoy of Texas City, 19-year-old Micah Bernard of Texas City and 18-year-old Wequavious Colbert of Dickinson. All four were arrested and charged with four counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon ($400,000 Bond Each), Aggravated Assault Mass Shooting ($100,000 Bond Each) and Deadly Conduct Discharge Firearm ($100,000 Bond Each).

Suspects, Demarion Bell, Embassy McCoy, Michah Bernard and Wequavious Colbert, were all wanted after shootings at two locations on July 5, 2024, in League City. The shootings occurred within minutes of each other in the 200 block of Diamond Bay Dr and in the 2700 block of S IH 45 northbound main lanes shortly after 12:45 a.m. on the morning of July 5, 2024. 

After a thorough investigation, League City detectives secured charges on the four suspects for Aggravated Assault Mass Shooting, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (x4) and Deadly Conduct Discharge Firearm. LCPD’s Community Impact Unit organized an operations plan to arrest the four suspects in a swift, sweeping fashion. On Friday, August 2, 2024, with the assistance of LCPD SWAT, the Galveston County Organized Crime Task Force, the Texas City Police Department Crime Suppression Unit and the La Marque Police Department, all four suspects were taken safely into custody within 20 minutes of one another from three separate locations in Texas City.
