League City, TX (April 23, 2025): The League City Police Department has arrested three individuals in connection with a series of vehicle thefts. The investigation is ongoing, and additional suspects may be involved.
On March 21, 2025, LCPD received a report of a Chevy Suburban stolen from the 3000 block of S Gulf Freeway. The vehicle, reported by Enterprise-Rent-A-Car, was last seen at Firestone Complete Auto Care. No suspect information was available at the time of the report.
The case was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division. During the investigation, detectives learned that Enterprise-Rent-A-Car has over 40 active stolen vehicle cases across Texas from the past 18 months, many involving Chevy and GMC SUVs with an estimated total value of more than $2 million. With assistance from Enterprise’s investigative team, LCPD began looking into the possibility of an auto theft ring.
Their investigation led to the identification of two suspected stolen vehicle processing locations, one in Brazoria County and another in Fort Bend County. On April 17, 2025, LCPD detectives, along with the Gulf Coast Auto Crimes Task Force, Galveston County Sheriff’s Office Organized Crime Task Force, Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, and Arcola Police Department, executed simultaneous search warrants at both locations.
The operation resulted in the arrest of three individuals (suspect information is not being released at this time) and the recovery of four stolen vehicles. Among them was the Suburban stolen from League City. Two vehicles were reported stolen from the Houston area, and one was reported stolen out of Tennessee.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information relevant to the case, or who believes they may be a victim, is urged to contact Detective Evans at 281-554-1863.
The League City Police Department extends its appreciation to the following for their vital assistance in this extensive investigation: Enterprise Rent-A-Car representatives, Galveston County District Attorney’s Office, Gulf Coast Auto Crimes Task Force, Galveston County Sheriff’s Office Organized Crime Task Force, Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, Friendswood Police Department and Arcola Police Department.
