Suspect Charged Following Road Rage Shooting
On October 31, at approximately 5:24 PM, Friendswood Police received a call in regards to a road rage shooting that had occurred in the 100 block of S. Friendswood Dr. The victim reported that a white Chevrolet Camaro with distinct markings had fired a gun at their vehicle. Responding officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle on Centennial Lane. As officers went to initiate a traffic stop they noticed the driver throw an object from the suspect vehicle in the 16500 block of Barcelona Lane. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver, Mike Jordan Cotiy Tum, 21, was detained on scene. The Friendswood K9 Unit responded to the scene to search the area for the thrown object. A Friendswood K9 was able to locate a handgun in the area.
The Galveston County District Attorney accepted 3 counts of Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon and set Tum’s bond at $50,000.
A single bullet was found lodged in the driver’s side of the vehicle. The 2 adults and 1 infant in the vehicle at the time of the shooting sustained no injuries and were released on scene.
