League City, TX (June 25, 2026) – The League City Police Department arrested two individuals following a vehicle pursuit that began after a traffic stop on Interstate 45 Thursday morning. Keshawn Gaines, 24, of Texas City, was charged with Evading Arrest/Detention with Vehicle, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Evading Arrest/Detention on Foot ($152,500 Total in Bonds). Mykenzie Streadwick, 25, of League City, was charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence ($25,000 bond).
On Thursday, June 25, 2026, at approximately 9:05 a.m., LCPD Traffic Division Officer Paige observed a white Hyundai Tucson speeding in the 2400 block of S IH 45’s northbound main lanes. Officer Paige initiated a traffic stop, and the vehicle pulled onto the shoulder near the 700 block of S IH 45. As he approached the vehicle, the driver suddenly fled, initiating a vehicle pursuit.
The pursuit continued northbound on IH 45 before the driver exited at El Dorado Blvd, made a U-turn, and traveled southbound on IH 45. The vehicle later exited at FM 518 and entered League City before coming to a stop near the intersection of Landing Blvd and Merrimac Dr in the Landing subdivision at approximately 9:13 a.m.
The driver, later identified as Gaines, exited the vehicle and ran, jumping several fences through the neighborhood. The passenger, later identified as Streadwick, remained with the vehicle and was taken into custody without incident. Officers located and apprehended Gaines in the backyard of a nearby residence at approximately 9:16 a.m. Both were transported to the League City Jail without further incident.
