On July 1, 2025, at approximately 1:26 AM, the Friendswood Police Department received a report of a suspicious person looking into vehicles at the Baywood Apartments, located in the 4900 block of FM 2351. An officer quickly arrived on scene and located a male matching the caller’s description. Upon seeing the officer, the suspect fled on foot and jumped a fence. The officer pursued and successfully apprehended the individual without incident.
The suspect, identified as Gary Buchanan, 22, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, has been charged by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office with Evading Arrest or Detention.
Over the weekend, Friendswood Police also received multiple reports from the nearby Bay Meadows Apartment complex, located in the 17200 block of Blackhawk Blvd., for three vehicle burglaries and one stolen vehicle. We urge all residents to lock their vehicles, remove valuables, and report any suspicious activity by calling our non-emergency line at 281-996-3300.
