Friendswood Officers Quickly Detain Burglary Suspects
On August 1, 2025, at approximately 12:46 AM, the Friendswood Police Department responded to a call for a possible burglary in progress at a business in the 1500 block of W. Parkwood Avenue. Officers arrived in the area within approximately 2 minutes of the call, they noticed a Ford sedan with a paper license plate and a Lincoln sedan leaving the vicinity of the business. Officers initiated traffic stops on both vehicles. When officers opened the passenger door of the Lincoln sedan to detain the male passenger, he attempted to flee and jumped over the barrier of the Chigger Creek Bridge. While officers were rendering aide to the injured male he spit on officers. Officers stayed with the male until medics arrived and transported him to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition. The occupant of the Ford sedan and the driver of the Lincoln sedan were both detained and transported to the Friendswood City Jail. Officers recovered approximately $30,000 worth of merchandise from the Lincoln sedan.
When commenting on the response of officers, Chief Rogers said, “Criminals who think they can come into Friendswood and commit crimes without consequences are mistaken. Our officers are highly trained, vigilant, and committed to swift, effective enforcement. Holding offenders accountable is what the Friendswood Police Department does best.”
