CASE UPDATE: On October 22, 2025, Derek West, 19, of Houston, was arrested for Evading Arrest and charged in connection with several antisemitic graffiti incidents in the Friendswood area. An analyst with the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office contacted Friendswood detectives after recognizing West from a video posted on social media on October 21.

West had previously fled from a Brazoria County deputy during a traffic stop on October 6, leaving behind his dirt bike and several cans of spray paint. That same evening, he was captured in several videos defacing public property with antisemitic graffiti in the Friendswood area.

Members with the Criminal Investigations Division and Field Support Unit arrested West near his Houston residence on October 22, for the Brazoria County warrant for Evading Arrest or Detention from the October 6 incident. Galveston County has also accepted Felony Graffiti Pecuniary Loss charges related to the Friendswood incidents.

We appreciate everyone who helped by sharing information, and we thank our partners at the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office for the critical intelligence provided in this case.
