At approximately 9:20 PM, on January 31, 2026, the Friendswood Police Department received an alert for a stolen vehicle in the area of Friendswood Link Rd and Laura Leigh Ln. Nearby officers located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle. The vehicle then fled from officers at a high rate of speed until it entered the parking lot at the Edge at Clear Lake apartments located at 2323 W. Bay Area Blvd. The two occupants inside the vehicle then fled on foot into the complex. Officers and K-9 teams began searching the area and were able to locate the two occupants of the vehicle at a nearby apartment and identify them as juveniles.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted charges of Unauthorized Use of A Motor Vehicle and Evading in A Vehicle on the juvenile driver. The juvenile passenger was charged with Evading on foot. Both juvenile’s parents were contacted and cooperated with police. The stolen vehicle was returned to the registered owner.
