League City, TX (February 9, 2026) – League City Police Department officers arrested two Houston men Sunday following a reported retail theft that led to the recovery of stolen merchandise and narcotics.
At approximately 12:11 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2026, LCPD officers responded to a report of a theft that had just occurred at Walgreens, located at 1088 W. Main Street. Officers were advised the suspects had fled the scene in a white Chevrolet Silverado traveling westbound on W. Main Street.
LCPD Dispatch notified responding officers that the Flock Safety system detected the vehicle continuing westbound near Hobbs Road. Shortly thereafter, officers located the Silverado in the parking lot of another Walgreens at 4902 W. Main Street.
The passenger, identified as 46-year-old Donny McWhorter, remained inside the vehicle and cooperated with officers. Officers received information that the driver, later identified as 43-year-old Pedro Martinez Jr., had exited the vehicle and was last seen walking toward the CVS parking lot across the street. Martinez was subsequently located behind the CVS building.
Martinez admitted to committing the theft at Walgreens and stated the stolen merchandise was inside the vehicle. A probable cause search of the Silverado resulted in the recovery of multiple stolen items, as well as more than seven grams of narcotics identified as fentanyl.
