League City, TX (March 31, 2026) – The League City Police Department, with assistance from the Galveston County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, has arrested 56-year-old Lisa Pfund of Seabrook. Pfund is charged with Cruelty to a Non-Livestock Animal, a 3rd degree felony offense, and her bond has been set at $50,000.
On January 30, 2026, League City Animal Protection Officers responded to PetSuites League City, located at 1125 Calder Dr, regarding a deceased 5-year-old male Goldendoodle. The dog had been brought to the facility by its owner for grooming services. Animal Protection Officers initiated an investigation, which was later transferred to the League City Police Department on February 6, 2026.
Detective Joshua Coward of the League City Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division conducted a comprehensive investigation that included multiple subpoenas, interviews, and a review of surveillance video. The investigation determined the dog’s death resulted from negligence while in the care of its groomer, Lisa Pfund. On February 24, 2026, Detective Coward obtained a felony warrant for Pfund’s arrest.
League City PD detectives, along with deputies from the Galveston County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, made multiple attempts to locate Pfund at her residence. On March 30, 2026, Precinct 4 Sergeant Jason Walker and Sergeant Jeremy Conn located Pfund at the InTown Suites Extended Stay, 480 W. Bay Area Boulevard in Webster. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Galveston County Jail.
