Today, in honor of National Police Week, the Friendswood Police Department joined fellow Galveston County law enforcement agencies to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
During the ceremony, Sergeant Salas placed a rose in memory of Sergeant James Dement. Sgt. Dement dedicated over 22 years of faithful service to the Friendswood Police Department and the City of Friendswood. He passed away on December 27, 2021, due to a COVID-related illness.
Sergeant Dement’s legacy lives on in the hearts of his colleagues and the community he served so devotedly. He is deeply missed and will always be remembered with honor and gratitude.
